La Bienal del Cartel Bolivia BICeBé realizó lanzamiento de su Convocatoria Internacional de Carteles BICeBé 2023 el pasado 8 de Noviembre en el Palacio Consistorial de la Ciudad de La Paz.
A partir de la fecha el público pudo conocer a los miembros del jurado, las temáticas inéditas en concurso y los interesados poder enviar sus carteles para formar parte de la Exhibición Principal de la BICeBé 2023 a inaugurarse en Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Establecida el 2009, la BICeBé lleva más de 13 años realizando uno de los eventos más destacados e importantes de la agenda cultural del país y en esta oportunidad establece su agenda y Evento Principal en la ciudad Santa Cruz con una continudad de actividades en la ciudad de La Paz, estableciendo ambas capitales como el epicentro del del diseño para Latinoamérica y el mundo.
Esta nueva versión de la bienal presenta 6 categorías en concurso. Los diseñadores, artistas visuales, e interesados podrán enviar sus carteles previamente publicados en las categorías cultural, social, publicitario y diseño en movimiento, además participar de la categoría inédita con la temática “EL DIA DEL SOBREGIRO DE LA TIERRA” y la categoría inédita para estudiantes: “TECNOLOGÍA Y SALUD MENTAL”.
La bienal a través de los años ha tenido una participación sin precedentes en una convocatoria de origen boliviano, llegando el 2021 a superar los 11.520 carteles de 91 países del mundo.
La selección de los mejores carteles recibidos formarán parte de la Exhibición Principal BICeBé 2023 y pasarán la Jura presencial de los miembros del jurado invitados: Art Chantry Estados Unidos, Agnieszka Ziemiszewska Polonia, Javier Jaén. España, Claudia Schramke Alemania, Lorenzo Shakespear Argentina, Catalina Estrada, Colombia/España y Christopher Rojas Bolivia/Chile. Todos ellos se unirán a otros invitados en una agenda memorable.

BICeBé presents its identity 2023 and launches the International Call for Poster Design
The Bolivia Poster Biennial BICeBé launched its International Poster Call BICeBé 2023 this November 8 at the City Hall of La Paz.
Designers were able to meet the jury members and the unpublished categories in the call. Submissions are open and become part of the Main Exhibition of BICeBé 2023 which will be inaugurated in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in november.
Established in 2009, BICeBé has been carrying out one of the most outstanding and important events on the country’s cultural agenda for more than 13 years and this version its organizaing and agenda and Main Event in the city of Santa Cruz with a continuity of activities in the city of La Paz (home of BICeBé for 13 years) proyecting both capitals as the epicenter of design for Latin America and the world.
This new version of the biennial presents 6 categories in competition. Designers, visual artists, and interested parties may submit their previously published posters in the cultural, social, advertising, and design-in-motion categories, as well as participate in the unpublished category with the theme «EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY» and the unpublished category for students: “TECHNOLOGY AND MENTAL HEALTH”.
The biennial through the years has had an unprecedented participation in a call of Bolivian origin, reciveing in 2021 more thab 11,500 posters from 91 countries of the world.
The selection of the best posters received will form part of the BICeBé 2023 Main Exhibition and will pass the face-to-face Jury of the invited jury members: Art Chantry Estados Unidos, Agnieszka Ziemiszewska Polonia, Javier Jaén. España, Claudia Schramke Alemania, Lorenzo Shakespear Argentina, Catalina Estrada, Colombia/España y Christopher Rojas Bolivia/Chile. All of them will join other guests in a memorable agenda.

“La BICeBé es un destino necesario dentro de la agenda mundial de diseño”
La Bienal del Cartel Bolivia BICeBé entiende la necesidad de la vinculación y el intercambio de conocimiento desde su primer evento el 2009. A inicios de su planificación el 2008 el interés de congregar a los diseñadores bolivianos y los espacios de formación parecía ambicioso y suficiente para un evento que comenzaba a generar una identidad y voz propia.
El cartel ha sido el punto de partida, la conexión comunicacional perfecta y la carta de presentación en las agendas de las bienales del mundo. Su Convocatoria Internacional de Carteles ha crecido significativamente a través del tiempo generando la participación de más de 87 países del mundo en su última versión.
Con el tiempo es el diseño, en todas sus expresiones, las que han dado forma a los espacios que como bienal fomenta. Reconoce que es importante reafirmar el rol del profesional en el desarrollo de las sociedades; entender al diseñador como un servidor público e integrar con equidad de género, las diferentes formas de ver en un solo espacio de convivencia. Estos valores son los conductores por los cuales se ha decidido desde el inicio, que la BICeBé sea una bienal de jóvenes y dónde ellos puedan encontrar y reafirmar su verdadera vocación en la construcción de puentes con el mundo que los rodea.

“Creadores de plataformas alternativas de interacción”
Resumir a la bienal como una competición de carteles sería error. Entender la transformación que ha generado frente a eventos similares es fundamental y es donde yace el verdadero valor como evento de diseño. Es por ello, que la bienal se construye bajo una agenda donde prima el contacto humano. La experiencia pedagógica, el aprendizaje y compartir con los diferentes profesionales, son sin duda el motor principal del evento. Todo esto construye un verdadero patrimonio y su contribución a la historia del diseño en Bolivia.
Ya no se trata de quien proyectó una intensión primero, sino quién entiende mejor los propósitos y el valor del espacio de reflexión. Generar llamados de acción y liderazgo a través de la educación, reconocer a las personas, su conocimiento y generar la búsqueda del beneficio común en el ejercicio de nuestra profesión. Dentro de este propósito, la BICeBé ha pasado de inspirarse a inspirar y de seguir ejemplos a darlos.
La Bienal del Cartel Bolivia BICeBé ha sido reconocida como uno de los espacios más importantes de diseño de la región. Participa de los principales Mercados de Industrias Culturales de Sudamérica y genera itineranticias expositivas a varios países de Latinoamérica, Asia y Europa.
Su relacionamiento e interacción es permanente con organizaciones culturales, espacios de formación académica y representaciones extranjeras en el país. Su trabajose enfoca en mantener los estándares así como el cuidado del patrimonio creado, respetando los derechos intelectuales y de propiedad de las piezas del archivo.

”La bienal boliviana es el encuentro ideal de maestros y jóvenes”
El plan de proyección de cada evento comprende una agenda de actividades en la cual participan profesionales y estudiantes del Bolivia y países de la región. Maestros diseñadores de todas partes del mundo han visitado el evento para formar parte activa de esta agenda viva. La Bienal está conformada por la Exhibición y Premiación de la Convocatoria Internacional de Carteles, la realización del Congreso Internacional de Diseño con Conferencias Magistrales, el Simposio Académico sobre la Enseñanza del Diseño con la participación de las principales universidades de Latinoamérica, talleres, charlas de diseño y creativas abiertas y exhibiciones representativas vinculadas a maestros, países, temáticas sociales o culturales y/o homenajes, formando con estás, una colección gráfica e histórica valiosa.

The poster Biennial understands the need for bonding and sharing knowledge since its first event in 2009. At the beginning of its planning in 2008, the interest in bringing together Bolivian designers and learning spaces seemed ambitious and ample. All for an event that was starting to generate an identity and voice of its own.
Poster was the starting point, the perfect communicational connection, and the cover letter sent to other Biennial’s agendas across the globe. The International Poster Call has grown significantly over time while generating the participation of more than 87 countries in a single version.

Over time, design in all its expressions has shaped the spaces that the Biennial encourages and creates. Recognizing that it is crucial to reaffirm the role of design in the progress of societies, understanding the professional as a public server and integrating gender equality into the many ways of seeing, all in a single living space. This added value has been the driver for the Biennial, to be an event for young people, where they can find and reaffirm their true call in creating connections with the world that surrounds them.

“We are creators of alternative platforms for interaction for our profession”
Describing the Biennial as a poster competition would be a mistake. One must first understand the transformation that it produced in relation to similar events, and that’s where its true value as a design event lies. That transformation is the basis for a Biennial with an agenda where human value comes first. The academic experience, either while learning or teaching, and the practice of dealing with different professionals, are without a doubt the main engine of the event. This amounts to a contribution to the history of design in Bolivia.

Is not about who first projected an intention, but who understands the purposes and value of the reflection scenario. Generating calls for action and leadership through education, recognize people, their knowledge and generate the search for common benefit in the exercise of our profession. Within this purpose, BICeBé has moved from being inspired to inspiring, and from following examples to give them.
The Biennial of Poster, BICeBé is recognized as one of the most important design spaces in the region. It has participated in the main Cultural Industries Markets in South America and presented its scheduled activities both locally and internationally, as well as carried out touring exhibitions in various countries in Latin America, Asia, and Europe.
Its relationships and interactions with cultural organizations, academic training spaces, and foreign representations in the country are permanent. There is arduous work in maintaining the standards and the care of its legacy, fully respecting the intellectual and property rights of the pieces in the archive.

The projected plan of each event comprehends a schedule filled with activities where professionals and students from Bolivia and the region all take part. Master designers from all over the world attended the experience to be an active part of its agenda. The Biennial is formed by the main exhibition and Award Ceremony of the International Poster Call, the International Design Congress with Lectures, the Academic Symposium of Teaching in Design with the support of the main universities in Latin America, Workshops. Design and Creative Talks open to everyone and opening of several additional exhibitions linked to masters, countries, social and cultural themes, homages and/or tributes, forming a valuable collection of visuals and history of posters and design.
